Date of Birth |
A user who has created a HeartCloud account is required to provide their date of birth. This data is collected at the time that a user signs up for a new account. |
We collect a user's date of birth in order to verify that they are over the age of 18 and to compute heart rate zones and METs (metabolic equivalents), which are derived from a user's workout session data and for which age is required. HeartCloud uses your birthday to determine your age. Your age is then used to calculate your maximum predicted heart rate. Age is one factor used to compute the upper and lower limits of each of the five heart rate zones. When you exercise while wearing your Apple Watch and then afterwards upload that workout to your HeartCloud account, our iOS and web applications can show you which heart rate zones you achieved and how long you maintained a heart rate within one or more heart rate zones. |
HeartCloud, Inc. does not sell a user's date of birth to any third parties. If a user elects to share data that they have uploaded to, or created in, their HeartCloud account with a HeartCloud for Health Practices account, then authorized users within the HeartCloud for Health Practices account will have access to the user's date of birth, their age, and heart rate zones and METs data that was, in part, derived from that user's age. |
A user who has created a HeartCloud account may optionally, but is not required to, provide a list of medications that they have previously or are currently taking, and also self-record (log) the date, time, timezone, and dosage of a particular medication. |
Provided by a user, if they choose, at any point after they create a HeartCloud account |
HeartCloud's iOS and web applications allow a user to enter one or more medications that they are taking and log the date, time, timezone, and dosage of that medication. |
HeartCloud, Inc. does not sell a user's current or prior medication history or when they recorded that they took that medication. If a user elects to share data that they have uploaded to, or created in, their HeartCloud account with a HeartCloud for Health Practices account, then authorized users within the HeartCloud for Health Practices account will have access to the user's medication history and when they recorded that they took that medication. |
Health and other personal records |
Users are not required to, but may, connect external medical records to their HeartCloud account. |
We store an anonymized and non-personally identifying access token that allows users to access their medical records at external healthcare providers. At no time do we store any credentials or healthcare data from those records. The purpose of this functionality is to allow patients to centralize their healthcare records and share them with HeartCloud for Health Practices accounts with which they are already sharing their health and other data. |
HeartCloud, Inc. does not offer any access whatsoever to any third party except for any healthcare provider(s) that a patient is sharing their HeartCloud data with. Federal and state laws and regulations governing the physician-patient relationship generally view the patient as the holder of that privilege, meaning that the patient (HeartCloud user) who has reached the age of majority (18) in the United States can choose to share their personal health and medical services information with third parties at their discretion. |
